For the Love of Money

By the O'Jays

Contrary to what the lyrics may suggest ("money, money, money, money!"), the song that we play by Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff, Anthony Jackson, and, Joe Tarsia--For the Love of Money--is actually about not exploiting money or letting it go to your head. The O'Jays were up-and-coming artists when they came up with the tune, but thought
carefully about how financial success fit in with their ethics and religious beliefs.
